Alice in Wonderland campaign

This was one of the most rewarding campaigns I have worked on at my time at Tulsa Ballet. The team was really on fire and excited about this show, which made creating the campaign pieces so much fun. My biggest roles in the marketing for this were creating the budget and plan, working with the choreographer to ensure his vision was being met and exceeded, directing the photoshoot and commercial shoot, and overseeing all pieces, providing feedback and final approval.

process

For the first six months of the campaign, there were no photos. The costumes for this show were extremely behind, so the team and I had to get very creative on the materials and content. Alice in Wonderland historically has some incredible elements that we could take from and use, such as a deck of cards.

For one of our very first pieces, we utilized the costume sketches for the back of a postcard and made the front a giant customized playing card. This was sure to capture the attention of anyone who opened their mailbox.

inspiration

Choreographer Kenneth Tindall had big dreams and big ideas. He described his vision for this production as 'whimsical' and wanted to mimic the style of Vogue for the photos. I had a great time working with a choreographer who was more hands-on than most I have worked with.

Thought the photos took on a more 'whimsy' style, the production itself was leaning more 'Disney', so we used more a more colorful palette to mesh the two styles.
